Retrograde-Free, At Last
For the first significant time in 2025. (Cognitive dissonance much?)
If you’re reading this, it’s probably safe to assume that 2025 has not gone down the hatch like a smooth shot of bourbon.
From an astrological POV, it’s an “as above, so below” situation. We’ve endured nearly non-stop signal-scrambling retrogrades of the three inner planets—Mercury, Venus and Mars—which exert their influence over our day-to-day lives the most.
Retrogrades are gnarly cosmic traffic jams—as well as (*slips sanctimonious halo over ponytail*) opportunities for learning and growth. 🤮
Fine. Yeah. They are.
But the way those retrogrades got shoveled onto our plates like a basket of Olive Garden’s bottomless breadsticks in the ‘90s when you were already three courses deep—too much! no more!—felt like anything but a gift, even if it kept on giving.
We began the year with combative Mars already retrograde (from December 6 to February 23), churning up chaos and stress. A mere week of reprieve rolled into peacemaker Venus’ retrograde (March 1 to April 12) and Mercury’s backspin (March 15 to April 7).
Throw in a few more X-factors: It’s a “9” Year in numerology, known to be the tumultuous, transitional end of a cycle, one that began in 2017.
And in late March/early April 2025, astrological cycles repeated that echoed the start of the U.S. Civil War and the 1929 Wall Street crash.
Today, however, could be an inflection point.
We say this with cautious optimism, under a full moon in Libra, the sign of harmony, justice and peace. But we still have to navigate the full moon’s contentious crosshairs with aggressive Mars, the ego-driven Sun and vulnerable Chiron, which could test our usual Libra-infused abilities to rise above our reactions.

In a ways, this does feel like a bit of freedom from the desert of cosmic support we’ve all been wandering through. Cautious optimism, like we said. But here’s hoping we all feel the change a bit more each day.
